Château La Tour de By 2016

From the province of Begadan in the very north of the Medoc.

This great property is now run by two of the late Marc Pagès’ grandsons, Frédéric Leclerc and Benjamin Richer de Forges. They are very capable.

A further 12 hectares of superb land were purchased in 2014 to add to their existing 55 hectares. The average age of the vines is well over 40 years.

The blend comprises 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. It is fermented in traditional wooden vats in a temperature-controlled chai, with a 4-week cuvaison. The wine is aged for 16 months in new to 3-year-old barriques.
