Giuseppe and Mauro Pavia are pretty obsessed with the wine of their region, saying “we want everyone to know the greatness of Barbera d’Asti.”
They’ve been making award-winning wines in Agliano Terme since the 1980s, showing the world what the commune and its native grape can do by producing four distinct types of Barbera d’Asti, “different interpretations of the same terroir, which express themselves with different tones, unique yet united.”
Their Casareggio is fruit-forward but perfectly balanced and surprisingly light in body given its fairly hefty ABV. There are subtle spice notes thanks to a few months in oak, and a long, satisfying finish.
